The fastest time to climb all mountains over 8,000 m (26,246 ft) is 189 days by Nirmal “Nims” Purja (Nepal) between 23 April (Annapurna I) and 29 October 2019 (Shisha Pangma). All climbs were made with supplementary oxygen.


En route, Nims broke the record for the fastest time to climb the “higher 8,000ers” – 70 days. He topped Kangchenjunga on 15 May, Everest and Lhotse on 22 May, Makalu on 24 May and K2 on 24 Jul.
