Nathan attempted this record as part of a charity event called the GOAL Mile, in order to help to raise the charity's profile as well as awareness for those living in constant famine, hunger, drought and war.

He sights his previous career in the British Army, Parachute Regiment as key preparation for this attempt and was inspired by his partner, Sandra Hickson (Ireland), who has achieved multiple Guinness World Records titles including the most lunges in one minute (female).
