Oliver spent a few days practicing for the attempt, having been inspired to break the record after first seeing it on YouTube during the Covid-19 lockdown. "Attempting this gave me something to focus on during lockdown, which really helped my mental health, and actually breaking the world record will really prove those efforts weren't in vain." He is proficient with throwing frisbee so knew he could do similar with a tortilla and was eventually able to break the record by over 2 metres.
