The fastest double-crossing swim of the Strait of Gibraltar (team of two) is 9 hours 45 minutes, and was achieved by Joel Matos Ortíz (Puerto Rico) and Virgilio Graco Alcibiades Morlán Luna (Mexico), in Punta de la Parra, Spain, on 15 August 2023.
The record holders swam without neoprene from Isla Tarifa (Spain) to Punta Cires (Morocco) and from there to Punta de la Parra (Spain). They were accompanied by the boat, Columba, and the crossing was ratified by ACNEG (The Straits of Gibraltar Swimming Association).
