The largest God's Eye is 4.10 m (13 ft 5.42 in) and was achieved by Francesca Valentina Salcioli (Italy), in Trieste, Italy, on 25 April 2021.

Francesca runs art therapy workshops and often uses the construction of the God’s Eye to help with relaxation, feeling good and expressing emotions. She has been practising this craft for years, so knew this was the record she wanted to attempt.

Francesca says this record to about one year of preparations. She encountered some challenges, like sourcing enough yarn and working within the curfew set in place during the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, Francesca says the hardest challenge was the weaving of the God's eye.

"When we were about 10 cm from our target, after a complete day of non-stop weaving, one arm of the structure of the God’s Eye broke. That was a very hard moment to me and all the people involved in the weaving process."

Francesca's favourite part of the God's Eye is the red centre, as for her, it is reminiscent of the heart.
