According to Amnesty International's Annual Report 2012, the country with the most prisoners awaiting execution in 2011 is Pakistan, with over 8,000 – well over twice the number in the USA. According to the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan, at least 313 people were sentenced to death in the same year. The last execution in the country, however, took place in 2008.
