The largest folding measuring ruler is 10 x 4 x 0.27 square metres, and was achieved by Brigitte Louter (Netherlands), in Amsterdam, Netherlands, on 30 September 2022.
Brigitte began constructing the ruler in Spring 2022. She wanted to make the ruler so she could achieve a record as an artist. The goal of scaling up a ruler was to create interest in standardised measurement systems and how they shape our reality.
"I wanted the ruler to be beautiful and impressive in scale, but above all, to showcase the possibility to turn any idea into something worth pursuing."
