The smallest dog on record is a fist-sized, dwarf Yorkshire terrier owned by Arthur Marples of Blackburn, UK, who was a former editor of Our Dogs. When full grown, this tiny dog stood 7.11 cm (2.8 in) at the shoulder and measured 9.5 cm (3.75 in) from the tip of its nose to the tip of its tail.
