On the Billboard Hot 100 dated 5 December 2015, Justin Bieber (Canada) registered 17 tracks on the chart, including a record 13 new entries: "Sorry" (No.2), "Love Yourself" (No.4 - new entry), "What Do You Mean?" (No.5), "I'll Show You" (No.19), "The Feeling" (No.31 - new entry, feat. Halsey), "Where Are Ü Now" (No.34, Skrillex & Diplo feat. Justin Bieber), "Mark My Words" (No.42 - new entry), "Purpose" (No.43 - new entry), "No Pressure" (No.49 - new entry, feat. Big Sean), "Company" (No.53 - new entry), "No Sense" (No.54 - new entry, feat. Travis Scott), "Life is Worth Living" (No.67 - new entry), "Children" (No.74 - new entry), "Been You" (No.81 - new entry), "We Are" (No.88 - new entry, feat. Nas); "Get Used to Me" (No.90 - new entry), "Trust" (No.98 - new entry).

The previous record was held by The Beatles (UK) and Drake (USA), who both placed 14 tracks simultaneously on the Billboard Hot 100, The Beatles on 11 April 1964 and Drake on 7 March and 17 October 2015.

The previous record for new entries on the Hot 100 had stood since 7 June 2008, when American Idol winner David Cook debuted simultaneously with 11 tracks.

On the US albums chart of 5 December 2015, Bieber's fourth studio collection, Purpose, debuted at No.1 – his sixth chart-topper on the Billboard 200. His 17 entries on the Hot 100 represent the entire deluxe edition of the album except the last of the album's 18 tracks, "All in It".

Videos for all 17 chart entries were released to accompany the audio tracks.
