Archaeological tests reveal that a 5,000 year old structure, probably a temple, discovered at a sacred Stone Age site at Stanton Drew, Bristol, had a diameter of 90 metres (295 feet) and was at least six times the size of Stonehenge. The building is estimated to have been 10m 32ft high, possibly with a thatched roof supported by more than 400 wooden columns, each around a metre in diametre to form nine rings. The remains, mainly massive column holes, lie underground.
