The lowest score in a single round of golf at the Summer Olympics (female) is 62, achieved by Maria Verchenova (Russia) on 20 August 2016 at the Olympic Golf Course in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; and equalled by Nelly Korda (USA) on 5 August 2021 at the Kasumigaseki Country Club in Kawagoe, Saitama, Japan.


Korda reached the 18th tee of her second round at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics needing only a birdie for a round of 59 – but a double-bogey saw her record a 9-under score of 62. She went on to claim the gold medal.
