Daddy Yankee (Puerto Rico, b. Ramón Rodríguez) had received 61 nominations for the Premio Lo Nuestro (PLN) Awards up to and including the 2021 edition of the US-based awards show. The rapper/singer, whose first nominations arrived in 2005, boosted his tally by five ahead of the 33rd PLN Awards (which will be held in Miami, Florida, on 18 February 2021), with nods for Male Urban Artist of the Year, Urban Song of the Year (“Muévelo” and “Que Tire Pa Lante”), Urban Collaboration of the Year (“Muévelo”) and Remix of the Year (“Relación”).

Daddy Yankee won 16 Premio Lo Nuestro awards between 2005 and 2020, including Urban Artist of the Year (2006), Urban Album of the Year (2005 – Barrio Fino; 2007 – Barrio Fino en Directo) and, in 2019, the Premio Lo Nuestro a la Excelencia (Excellence/Lifetime Achievement award). In 2020, he scooped seven awards: Artist of the Year, Urban Male Artist of the Year, Remix of the Year (“Soltera”) and four trophies for “Con Calma”: Song of the Year, Single of the Year, Urban Song of the Year and Crossover Collaboration of the Year.
