The first person to row solo around Great Britain is Andrew Hodgson (UK) who departed from the Tower of London on 13th May 2018 and arrived back at his start point on 4th November 2018 after a total of 175 days 2 hours 51 minutes in his boat, Spirit of Ahab.

He paused his continuous row in Grimsby for 10 days after 146 days at sea for a resupply of food but never got off his boat. In the last few weeks of his journey he was frequently overtaking and being overtaken by another Guinness World Record holder, Ross Edgley who is the first person to swim around Great Britain.
