The oldest female (and person overall) to complete an Ice Mile under International Ice Swimming Association® regulations is Jerrie Roberts (UK, b. 26 June 1950), who was aged 73 years 158 days when she swam in the 2.68°C (36.8°F) waters of Loch Morlich in the Scottish Highlands, UK, on 1 December 2023. Her swim was completed in 54 minutes 43 seconds.


This surpassed the record of Elke Ortloff (Germany, b. 29 April 1953), who was aged 65 years 264 days when she swam an Ice Mile in a freshwater pool in Volendam, Netherlands, on 18 January 2019.
