Most streamed album by a female artist in one week (UK)

Thank U, Next by Ariana Grande (USA) attracted 59 million on-demand audio streams in the UK in the week following the album’s release on 8 February 2019, surpassing the 45 million album-equivalent units posted by her previous album, Sweetener, when it landed at No.1 on 30 August 2018. On Spotify in the UK, Grande held seven of the top 10 positions for the week to 14 February 2019, led by “Break up with Your Girlfriend, I’m Bored” (5,529,501 streams) and “7 Rings” (5,308,890). In total, the 12 tracks from Thank U, Next had been streamed 34,891,212 times by UK listeners on Spotify as of 14 February.

In the UK, Thank U, Next is the third-most-streamed album in its first week on sale, behind Ed Sheeran’s ÷ (Divide, 2017) and Drake’s Scorpion (2018).

Thank U, Next debuted at No.1 on the Official Albums Chart dated 21 February 2019 with 65,000 album-equivalent sales, including 59 million combined on-demand audio streams for its 12 tracks.
