The largest lake on an island is Nettilling Lake located on Baffin Island in the Canadian Territory of Nunavut. The lake is a freshwater lake and is 5,542 square km (2,140 square miles) in area, with a maximum length of 123 km (76.4 miles). Although frozen over for long periods of the year, the lake is home to a three species of fish and colonies of ring seals.
