In 2013, Moon Ribas (Spain) implanted into her left arm a sensor that alerts her whenever there is an earthquake anywhere on Earth. The implant functions via a smartphone app that reacts to seismic activity as low as 1 on the Richter scale.Ribas, a Catalan dancer and artist, performs a stage show in which she moves her body to interpret the different tremors she feels through the sensor; the intensity of the vibrations depend on the strength of the quake.
On 15 September 2017, Ribas had implants added to her feet to allow her to feel Moonquakes. "My arm will vibrate with the earth and my feet will be on the moon," she noted.
