Its ranking is all the more impressive for the fact that it has been aggregated from such a large number of reviews.
Despite being the most critically acclaimed videogame on GameRankings, Super Mario Galaxy is not the most critically acclaimed game overall when cross-compared with fellow reviews aggregator Metacritic. That accolade falls to the N64 action-adventure The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, which scores 99 in the latter site's rankings.
