Playing live at the Summer Games Done Quick charity event in Minneapolis, USA, on 9 July 2016, a modified NES R.O.B. robot named TASBot, finished a tools-assisted (TAS) run of Nintendo's Super Mario Bros. 3 in 2 seconds. The robot exploited a glitch that had been discovered by the speed-runner "ais523" and which involves pressing controller buttons at about 6,000 times a second. As a consequence, the game literally leaps from the opening screen to end-screen, evading all gameplay. The robot was modified by the known TAS whizz "dwangoAC".
