The fastest goal scored in a La Liga football match is 7.8 seconds by Joseba Llorente (Spain) playing for Real Valladolid against Espanyol at the José Zorrilla stadium in Valladolid, Spain, on 20 January 2008.

In both 2014 and 2015, the Spanish top division saw two sub-10 second goals scored by Seydou Keita and Florin Andone that looked to be the fastest ever until official timing confirmed they were the third and fourth fastest goals scored. Llorente broke the record of Uruguayan striker Dario Silva, who scored after 8 seconds playing for Malaga against Valladolid on 10 December 2000.
