When
On 17 May 2009 – the day on which the game formerly known as Minecraft: Order of the Stone debuted in its abbreviated form – TIGSource user “Evil-Ville” posted the first fan-made Minecraft video on YouTube. This clip, which demonstrated Evil-Ville’s castle-building prowess, is sadly no longer available. Instead, the longest-surviving fan video on YouTube is the simply titled “minecraft” by “jwaap”. This minute-long tour of a rudimentary map and bridge-like structure appeared online on the same day, shortly after Evil-Ville’s inaugural effort.
