As of 8 March 2017, "Skyrim" – performed by violinist/dancer Lindsey Stirling (USA) and singer/producer Peter Hollens (USA) – had been viewed 48,465,171 times since being uploaded to YouTube on 3 April 2012.

The track is a cover of the main theme from The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (Bethesda; 2011), composed by Jeremy Soule. "He is an amazing artist and it was amazing to work with such fantastic music," wrote Stirling on her video channel.

A videogames music fan and former America's Got Talent contestant, Stirling has also covered and performed music from Assassin's Creed III and The Legend of Zelda, both of which can be viewed on her YouTube channel.
