The world’s first house to be shaped like a crocodile was completed by African artist Moussa Kalo in the Cocody district of Abidjan, Ivory Coast, in 2008. Kalo died that year, and today the concrete house is lived in by his apprentice Thierry Atta, who also helped to build the house. At the front is a massive smiling mouth while the main body is hollowed out to provide Atta with a bedroom and living area. The house is raised up on four legs, with the main belly resting on a massive concrete lily pad. Visitors can crawl under the crocodile if they feel brave enough.
