Most times someone starred as themselves in movies

Legendary Mexican Lucha Libre wrestler El Santo (1917–1984) starred as himself in no less than 50 action/adventure movies produced over a period of 24 years, beginning with Santo contra el cerebro del mal (Santo vs. the Evil Brain) in 1958, and concluding shortly before the wrestler’s retirement with Santo en la furia de los karatekas (Santo and the Fury of the Karate Experts) in 1982. Famed for his trademark silver mask, El Santo successfully kept his face hidden from fans for more than 40 years, only removing his mask during a brief television appearance a week before his death in February 1984.
