When
The largest pot won in a single hand of televised poker was an eye-watering US$1.1 million in a stand-off between American players Tom Dwan and Phil Ivey during Full Tilt Poker’s Million Dollar Cash Game, filmed in London, UK, in September 2009. Dwan, Ivey – and the Finn Patrik Antonius – were the only players remaining. Antonius had folded his hand, but Dwan and Ivey had both drawn a straight – a poker hand consisting of five cards of any suit ranked in order. Each believed their hand was strong enough to win the pot, leading to aggressive betting. However, Dwan’s 3-4-5-6-7 beat Ivey’s A-2-3-4-5.
