When
The dog breed with the most toes as a standard feature of its morphology is the Norwegian Lundehund or Puffin Dog, which has six fully functional toes (and eight pads) on each of its four feet, instead of the normal four toes per foot in other dog breeds. The extra toes have been specifically selected when developing this spitz-type breed, in order to assist it securing a firm grip on rocky surfaces when hunting puffins in the small cliff-face caves where they nest in its native Norway.
