On 3 March 2012, buoyed by her trophy-winning success at the Grammy and BRIT Awards, Adele (UK, b. Adele Adkins) placed three tracks in the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 - the first time the feat had been achieved by a solo female as lead artist. The songs in question were: "Set Fire to the Rain" at No.2, "Rolling in the Deep" at No.5 and "Someone Like You" at No.7 - all three former Hot 100 chart-toppers.
Previously, only four other acts charted three (or more) songs in the top 10 simultaneously as lead acts: The Beatles (UK) in 1964 (including, famously, the entire top 5 on 4 April 1964), the Bee Gees (UK) in 1978, Usher (USA) in 2004 and Chris Brown (USA) in 2008.
