Schiphol's Airport Park in Holland, which was opened on 11 May 2011 by the Dutch Princess Irene, founder and president of the NatuurCollege Foundation, is the world’s largest (and currently only) park within an airport. It measures 2,000 square metres (inside and outside). The park environment, which is augmented by the use of mixed-reality technology featuring projected butterflies and the sounds of bicycle bells and children, is centred on a rescued 130-year-old tree.
