Multi-talented internet celebrities Logan Paul and KSI (real name Olajide Olatunji) have smashed two world records by smashing a supersized piñata shaped like a bottle of their sports drink, PRIME.
At a height of 33.66 metres (110.4 ft) and width of 10.69 metres (35 ft) – similar in size to the longest whale ever found – it is both the largest piñata and largest suspended piñata ever.
The gigantic PRIME piñata, which cost over $1 million to make, is 10% bigger than the previous largest piñata (made by CORN NUTS® earlier this year) and almost five times bigger than the previous largest suspended piñata (made in 2015 by Mexican company Vision Lightec).
“We like to go big or go home, and today we went big,” Logan said after the records were officially confirmed.
“Literally big,” KSI added.
The record attempt took place in Mexico City to celebrate the launch of PRIME in Mexico. A limited edition ‘Piñata Colada’ flavour drink was also released.
Both Logan and KSI hit the piñata to break it, while the audience in attendance chanted songs which are customarily sang in Mexico when a piñata is smashed.
The piñata released thousands of PRIME drinks and inflatable balls, which were all given away to the public.
KSI said that the hardest part of the project was “probably the cost”.
“There are $60,000 worth of inflatable balls inside the piñata,” Logan revealed.
The pair said they don’t know what they’re going to now do with the piñata, but they’re delighted to have broken two records.
“It feels good. It’s gonna be nice to be in that book,” KSI said.
“Yeah, the Guinness World Records book is amazing,” Logan added. “It was one of the first books I read when I was a kid – well, not read, I looked at the big pictures of people – and to be in that book with a brand we created, and for something awesome like a giant piñata, is very cool.”
Logan and KSI both already have Guinness World Records titles to their names: KSI featured in the most viewed crossbar challenge video on YouTube and the most viewed charity sports match live stream on YouTube, whilst Logan is the owner of the most expensive Pokémon trading card sold at a private sale (a PSA Grade 10 Pikachu Illustrator card, which he bought for $5,275,000).
When asked what records they’d like to break in 2024, Logan replied: “I’m definitely gonna aim to become the sexiest US champ in history,” referring to his status as the current WWE United States Champion. Unfortunately, Guinness World Records does not monitor any records related to things which cannot be objectively measured, such as ‘sexiness’.
KSI had a more realistic record in mind: “World’s biggest bandana. I’m gonna build it and wear it.”
No one has ever attempted to create a record-breaking bandana, but we’d welcome KSI’s attempt at it!
