The Brief
The Maze Tower is an iconic 55-storey building, perfectly positioned on the prominent Sheikh Zayed Road in the heart of Dubai’s Financial District. The standout feature of the building are its intricate lines of balconies on both front and rear facades, created in the shape of a maze which forms real puzzles. The natural stones used throughout the Maze Tower have been hand selected for their aesthetic and tactile appeal. With such impeccable design, the owners, Al Rostamani Group, sought to promote the tower as a key attraction to both tourists and local residents.
The Solution
A new record category for the Largest Vertical Maze was developed in recognition of the skilful design effort achieved. To verify this record, Al Rostamani Group submitted architectural drawings of the building to calculate the total outside area, and to authenticate that the external façade design was in fact, an actual maze. After reviewing the evidence, it was confirmed that Al Rostamani Group were proud new record holders for the Largest vertical maze with an impressive total area of 3947.22m2.
To acknowledge this spectacular tower and unique architectural design, a globally recognised GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS Plaque was placed at the entrance to commemorate the record achievement, attracting passers by and creating a unique photo opportunity for visitors.
The creation of this unique building was a prestigious project for Al Rostamani Group, which drew its inspiration from the creative and innovative changes taking place across Dubai and the UAE.
