Oldest Horse

Every day that we had with Moki was a special day

He's missed dearly. Moki was my horse who was 40 years old

However, unfortunately, on June 3rd, Moki passed away. So it was with a very heavy, broken heart that I received this news after he had passed

He was Beverly Bean's horse and she would live in Nicaragua for work and so during that time

he would come here for three months. So we did that from 2018. We had gone through COVID. Beverly

decided she was going to move there permanently. In the meantime with her permission I had moved

him over to a barn that I manage where he became a therapy horse. He helped people going through

some of the darkest times of their life. So he was there early 2020. We brought him back home here

in January of 2025. Moki was an old man when he came to me. So what I know he liked was eating

getting brushed. He loved to give kisses. When he was with Beverly, she would ride him

She enjoyed many years riding all over the country with him. Moki was an Arabian and an Arabian is

known for living longer because of their energy, because of their size. But with Moki making it to

40 he would have made it 10 to 12 years past an average lifespan of any horse Beverly got him from Burt Reynolds Ranch in 1992 He was mahogany on his papers called Mohawk Burt is known for who he was and all of his glory

And he thought that Mohawk, Mokey, fit parts of his personality. For Mokey to hold the record feels absolutely amazing

And it also is very bittersweet. It's very exciting to know that he lived that long, that he was loved

He had such a strive for life. I thought at one point he was going to just live forever and keep going on and on and on

And so to lose him suddenly was heartbreaking. I certainly didn't do this alone, taking care of him

He was loved greatly from birth. It takes something special to love a horse that is older

I enjoyed seeing how my kids would love him. Moki taught me how to love a horse that doesn't give back in a riding form

Watching what a horse can do with just their magic. I wish he could be here to receive his title

I wanted that so badly for him. So to say that Moki is being recognized and had an amazing accomplishment in his life is something that I will forever cherish

And I look forward to continuing his legacy. He was just a really special guy
