If there's ever anybody in this world that deserves to be a mother, it's Molly

So our journey really begins with the loss of our daughter. We had a daughter in September of 23
0:12
She was born almost 18 weeks gestation, so she was born prematurely as well
0:22
I ended up being diagnosed with incompetent cervix, and so we knew that for our next pregnancy that we
0:28
would have to consult with a maternal fetal medicine doctor, get a cerclage placed preventatively
0:33
between 12 and 14 weeks. We ended up finding out that we were pregnant with Nash in March of 2024
0:43
and we were so excited but also very nervous. We didn't really, you know, get too excited. We didn't
0:51
get our hopes up. We didn't decorate the nursery. We didn't really do anything too drastic because
0:57
we just didn't want to jinx it. So when I checked into the University of Iowa, I was
1:01
20 weeks and four days. It was a Tuesday and I had got there, my contractions started
1:08
or what felt like contractions started getting closer together and heavier. The doctor, she
1:15
thought that our chances were very slim, but I do remember we had a great nurse and she
1:19
was so hopeful for us and that kind of what helped us hang on to hope Because of our Our loss in 23 we at that point kind of just accepted what could happen but we just wanted to give Nash a chance
1:33
Had Nash been born just 10 hours earlier, he wouldn't be here
1:40
So we feel very, very fortunate that he held on until that 21-week mark
1:46
If I could explain Nash during the NICU journey, it would be him with his hands behind his head, just sitting there like, what's next
1:56
He took everything so perfectly. We were able to trust that he was going to be okay because of how chill he was
2:06
He is the world's most premature-born baby. He's a world record holder, and we are so thrilled he achieved that
2:15
because that means that he made it. He made his journey. He's surviving, and he's thriving, and he's doing really good
2:22
So we're very proud of him. Yeah, he's just a happy kid
2:27
Like, I rarely see him cry, and it's the best. I love waking up to him
2:33
I love going to pick him up from daycare. He's truly, like, the best thing that could have ever happened to us
