The attempt took place as part of RCC's annual open weekend in order to raise the club's profile and raise funds for junior cricket within RCC. The overs were achieved by RCC's registered adult club members, RCC's junior teams, members of the Yorkshire Diamonds professional woman's cricket team and small number of club sponsors/members of the public. There were 33 bowlers in total. 53 people performed batting duties.
