Steve breaks record for longest catch from a helicopter

So the reason I took this record on, because at the time I broke a world record for pushing a lawnmower around an oval for 24 hours

And at that time, this record was being broken in Melbourne. And I thought that kind of seems like a lot easier record than pushing a lawnmower

We took a helicopter up and had a couple of practice sessions. I did catch the ball successfully, unofficially. From there, we attempted the world record

at the Sunshine Coast Stadium. The record Steve has to be is 221.81.89 meters

So the previous five attempts before this I got close. The most difficult part was the velocity of the ball

by the time it got to me. And it was going over 100 kilometres an hour. Got my hands around it, fell to the ground

and hoped like hell that that was the world record. There was 80s

plus miscatches, probably six or eight close calls. The successful catch was 227.41 metres

It feels good. We did it for a good charity. I raised 20,000 Australian dollars for inclusive kids

which is a charity on the Sunshine Coast. I was thankful that I didn't let them down
