Dozens of doodles got the chance to soak in the sunrays – and make some paw-some new friends – at a record-breaking doggy pool party in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA last weekend!

Held during National Dog Week, the event called “Doodlepalooza” took place at Cowabunga Vegas water park on 27 September, and was arranged by We Love Doodles (USA) in partnership with Doodle Rescue USA.

A total of 296 pets participated in the counting process with their owners, officially granting the company the Guinness World Records title for the most dogs attending a dog pool party in history. They overtook the record set by Chewy (USA), who had 276 pets attend their Bark Park in Coral Gables in May of this year.

During the festivities, these excited pups got the chance to explore the entirety of the 41-acre park – splashing about in the wave pool, sniffing around the kiddie area, and sprinting atop the grassy lawns. The experience was particularly unique for many of the dogs, mainly because they all looked so similar.

Doodles refers to the general classification for the curly haired, purebred dogs mixed with poodles, and the event was specifically organized to give these similar animals a chance to interact.

The first Doodlepalooza event was held last year, and was organized by Doodle Rescue USA founder Sheedvash Michael Zargari before the non-profit officially opened its doors.

Nevertheless, over 200 dogs turned out to the party in 2025  – indicating to their team just how strong the local doodle community is, and suggesting that an even larger gathering could be possible.

Therefore, after the rescue officially opened in 2026, they were determined to up-the-ante this time around – partnering with We Love Doodles to add many more activities and giveaway options, as well as raise funds for the non-profit while attempting the Guinness World Records title.

This time, however, the event wasn't limited just to Doodles, and they welcomed dogs of all breeds to join them for the attempt.

We Love Doodles is a pet-products brand that specifically designs items for doodles – and both organizations were united in their mission to provide some wholesome fun (with some important health and rescue information) for the doodle community in America.

Whereas We Love Doodles is an e-commerce site, they shared Doodle Rescue’s ethos for pet rescue, adoption, and ethical animal care, and the event shed a powerful light on how to successfully combine community-driven recreation with meaningful animal advocacy.

Thanks to their dedicated effort – in addition to the public’s enthusiastic turnout – they were able to raise proceeds that will directly fund services such as: grooming, foster home placements, transit, behavioural assessments, and adoption programmes, for all types of dog breeds in-need across the country.

Yet in addition to the fun, fundraising activities, the companies also offered meaningful experiences for pets and their handlers. A red-carpet photo station was installed with professional pet photographers, a vendor village was established with pet-friendly businesses and free giveaways, food, and treats – and fittingly, a take-home grab bag selection was set up for pups and their parents.

Pets could also be entered in the Doodlepalooza swimwear competition, with finalists taking to the catwalk (strike that – dogwalk) in their cutest gear. The winner was crowned with a sash and tiara, claiming the adorable title as Miss Doodlepalooza.

That said, Miss Doodlepalooza wasn’t the only dog to walk away with an accomplishment that day… and as hundreds of pets streamed through Cowabunga Vegas’s doors, it was becoming clearer and clearer that the pups were poised to take the record.

GWR Adjudicator Susana Reyes helped count the dogs in attendance, and she said it was “so much fun seeing all those gorgeous, happy pups living their absolute best lives!”

Following the counting process, Susana was delighted to announce that We Love Doodles had taken the title, and the audience was equally excited to learn that they had taken part in pet history.

“We are thrilled to achieve this milestone after meticulous planning,” said the organizers to GWR. “Seeing hundreds of families and their adorable dogs enjoying the pool together, for such a noble cause as Doodle Rescue USA, truly demonstrates the strength and passion of our community.”

Following the event, We Love Doodles handed out shampoo and conditioner packets to the participants, and let them use their brushes and doggy dryers to clean off before the ride home.

And as the handlers led their sleepy dogs back out the doors of Cowabunga Vegas – each carrying bags filled with complimentary goodies – the overwhelming response was one of gratitude for the experience of sharing this marvelous day with their like-minded community.
