ATTENTION ALL GAMERS: There is officially a new title holder for the largest projected video game display!
On 19 August 2021, Garena Free Fire celebrated its 4th anniversary with this epic record-breaking feat in partnership with Limelight Projection Mapping and WorldStage (Singapore & USA).
The massive projection installation was displayed on the side of the Tropicana Hotel’s Club Tower in Las Vegas and covered a total of 46,733.65 square feet, surpassing Xbox Series X and Destiny 2: Beyond Light’s previous record by more than double.
Event organizers were proud not only to be achieving a GWR™ title but also that they had produced the largest number of lumens ever created by a projector array in the United States with more than 1.6 million lumens of light.
Once the videogame projection was up and running, the gameplay attempt took place at 3 AM on the morning 19 August.
With an adjudicator onsite, the record was confirmed in real time after the game was played on the giant projection for at least ten minutes, per official record guidelines.
Later in the day, the record achievement was announced, and a celebration commenced.
Event organizers invited gaming influencers, hotel executives, and local fans to join the record-breaking celebration where they projected the results on the videogame display for attendees to witness.
Now as an official title holder, Garena Free Fire will continue its 4th anniversary celebration with an in-game special anniversary mission and interface, login rewards, anniversary gifts and more, which will all culminate in the 4th anniversary party taking place in-game on 28 August.
