Largest serving of pancakes achieved

Hy-Vee supermarket chain recently broke an incredibly tasty record title for the largest serving of pancakes.

Cooking a total of 13,000 pancakes in roughly seven hours, Hy-Vee surpassed the previous record of 12,716 pancakes set in Moscow in 2017.

The attempt began at 5AM CT on 24 June in the parking lot of Hy-Vee in Blue Springs, Missouri where an official adjudicator was onsite to monitor the record in real time.

To secure the title, a total of 18 Hy-Vee chefs were positioned at six different griddle stations in the parking lot as they flipped pancakes continuously throughout the day.

By cooking enough pancakes to feed an entire town, Hy-Vee not only broke a record, but also used the event to celebrate the launch of their new breakfast menu while giving back to those in need.

“What better way to celebrate the launch of our new breakfast menu than with a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title,” said Tina Potthoff, Senior Vice President of Communications at Hy-Vee.

“We are extremely appreciative of our amazing employees who helped make this event a success, and we are grateful for the partnership with Harvesters, which allows us to help feed those who are food insecure.”

Harvesters – The Community Food Network received all 13,000 pancakes after the record was confirmed and donated them to thousands of people in need across Missouri and Kansas.
