The attempt followed a short lesson on mental health issues and talks from Connect Managing Director at Lloyds Banking Group Martin Dodd and former England rugby sevens captain Ollie Phillips.

Phillips explained how his career was cut short by injury and discussed the ways in which it affect his mental health. He said:
It’s great to have been invited along to be part of this event as it is a subject I have personal connections with. It is inspiring to see how passionate Lloyds Banking Group colleagues are about raising funds and awareness for mental health.

Talking about the Guinness World Records attempt Martin Dodd commented:
By setting a Guinness World Records title we hope that we have created a talking point to help encourage people to discuss mental health and have increased awareness of Mental Health UK. The funds we’ve raised will help create a pioneering Mental Health and Money Advice Service, supporting people experiencing both mental health and money issues.
“The feel-good factor attached to breaking a record is superb!” he added.

Previously the largest human image of a mouth consisted of 301 participants and was achieved by Médiacité in Liège, Belgium, in October 2016.
