Indian woman takes record for longest hair with beautiful raven tresses almost 9-ft long
With beautiful long locks that trail behind her as she walks, Renu Dhariyal (India) has claimed the record for longest hair on a living person (female).
Her stunning raven tresses measure an unbelievable 271.50 cm (8 ft 10 in) long. That’s just a smidge shorter than Robert Wadlow, the tallest man ever, who stood at 272 cm (8 ft 11.1 in).
Renu’s record-breaking hair was verified in Haldwani, Uttarakhand, India in April, taking the record from Aliia Nasyrova (Ukraine), whose hair measured 257.33 cm (8 ft 5.3 in).
And she’s not gatekeeping the secrets to long, healthy hair. Renu is a content creator and YouTuber who loves sharing her beauty tips with other women.

Explaining how her hair got so long, she said: “I have been growing my hair continuously since 2015. In Indian culture, long hair is considered a symbol of extreme beauty and tradition, which is what inspired me to grow it so long.
“I have never cut my hair since 2015.”

In a series of beautiful images shared with us, Renu is seen with her hair trailing along the ground behind her, draping over the edge of a bed and surrounding her as she sits on the floor.
Her hair is incredibly thick and shiny, as well as long, and Renu ties it into an elaborate plait when she needs to keep it off the floor.

Taking care of hair this long is no easy task, as you’d imagine.
Renu said: “It takes a lot of patience to maintain long hair. I spend hours washing and detangling my hair.

“My secret is completely natural. I stay away from chemical products and also share the secrets of chemical-free homemade hair oils and homemade shampoos I make on my YouTube channel.”

Of course, she already gets a lot of attention for her hair.

She said: “With such long hair, whenever I step out or come on social media, people are surprised and I get a lot of appreciation and attention.
“I want to give a message to the world that with determination, consistency and connecting with your natural beauty and culture, you can achieve any big milestone.”
