JackSucksAtLife on YouTube success and how he sneaked into one of our most-viewed videos
YouTuber JackSucksAtLife spilled all on his social media career when he popped into Guinness World Records’ London HQ as the latest guest on our podcast What’s The Record?
The star, whose real name is Jack Welsh (UK), has millions of followers across his main channel, second one JackSucksAtStuff and many others.
Sitting down with host Will Munford and producer Dom Punt, he looked back on how it all began, including which well-known YouTube personality inspired him, shared about the videos he’s loved making the most and also tested his knowledge of the video-sharing platform’s record-breaking history.
Jack said: “Before I knew YouTube was a thing, I wanted to be a filmmaker so I think it was just a sort of natural progression and YouTube is obviously far more accessible than producing a multi-million pound film.
“You can just get on with making a YouTube video can’t you? And make your own mistakes and learn and grow.”
Jack holds the record for most YouTube channels with over 100,000 subscribers owned by an individual with an incredible total of 13.

How does he keep so many going to such a high standard?
The social media star also chats about his work with the Sidemen, how his dream of appearing in YouTube Rewind was crushed and how he accidentally appeared on a Russian TV show.

A slightly awkward moment was created for producer Dom when Jack spoke about a fun project he did where he Photoshopped himself into some thumbnails on other YouTube channels, like this one on ours…
Dom managed the channel at the time and was forced into confessing that he’d forgot to save the original thumbnail so Jack will remain there forever.
Whoops… but kind of iconic, Jack!
And of course, while we had him here, we also gave him the chance to break another world record.
Inspired by the names of his YouTube channels, Jack attempted the most Maltesers moved using a straw in one minute?
