Record smasher Muhammad Rashid reclaims title by landing nearly 400 punches in a minute

Serial record breaker Muhammad Rashid (Pakistan) pushed himself to the limits to reclaim a title he’d lost.
The 43-year-old currently holds over 50 world records, and he’s always on the lookout for his next challenge.
Setting his sights on taking back a title he’d lost, Muhammad achieved the most full extension punches wearing boxing gloves in one minute (male) with a total of 386 in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan, on 1 June.
Muhammad first broke this record in 2024, but the popular title was broken a few times before he clawed it back.
History of the record:
- December 2023 - Ioan Croft (UK) – 298
- May 2024 - Muhammad Rashid (Pakistan) – 346
- October 2024 - Bahram Rohani Motlagh (Iran) – 369
- November 2024 - Rocco Mercurio (Italy) – 356
- April 2025 - Joshua Iyalla (UK) – 374
- June 2025 - Muhammad Rashid (Pakistan) – 386
On how he gets into the zone, Muhammad said: “Before a record attempt like this I utilize my performance – every punch, every second, in my mind I forget everything and just focus to achieve this.
“This record is very hard because you need speed, stamina and focus.”
Muhammad furiously punched a pad, being held up by a pal, as many times as he could, alternating his fists as he went.
His face grimaces as his arms tire, but he pushes through the pain to make sure he uses the whole minute.
“My target was 400 punches but it was extremely hard,” he said.
Muhammad let out a scream as the time came to an end.
He may not have quite made it to his target, but that doesn’t matter.
He added 12 more punches to the record total, reclaiming the record for his own collection of titles.
