Ever fancied breaking a world record while sailing around the world on a luxury cruise liner?
Well, the ultimate record-breaking adventure at sea is now bigger than ever, with Guinness World Records on board a whopping 12 MSC Cruises ships.
Here, we’re going to tell you everything you need to know about our one-of-a-kind partnership with the travel company…
Which MSC Cruises ships have Guinness World Records on board?
Guinness World Records has launched on its 12th MSC ship.
Here’s a full list:
- MSC Seascape
- MSC Europa
- MSC Euribia
- MSC Meraviglia
- MSC Seashore
- MSC Virtuosa
- MSC Divina
- MSC Magnifica
- MSC Grandiosa
- MSC Bellissima

The GWR entertainment programme is expected to be on board all 23 MSC Cruises ships in the next year, including its newest ship MSC World America when it sets sail from Miami in April 2025.
The programme was first introduced on MSC Seascape and MSC World Europa in March last year.
Steve Leatham, VP of Entertainment at MSC Cruises, said: “The programme has been hugely popular among guests, both adults and children alike.
“To date, MSC Cruises guests and crew have broken 30 Guinness World Records titles. From being the fastest to pull 100 metres (about the length of a football field) of rope, to completing the fastest time to complete 20 chair rotations in under 21 seconds, or putting on the most pairs of socks on one foot in under 30 seconds, guests have attained record-breaking glory in a variety of quirky ways.
“We’re excited to be able to offer it on more of our ships for guests of all ages to enjoy. The extended partnership is part of MSC Cruises’ broader strategy to further elevate their onboard immersive entertainment programmes and provide carefully crafted entertainment for guests of all tastes.”
Which Guinness World Records titles can you attempt to break on MSC Cruises?
We have a growing list of world records available for passengers, crew, and even the Captain to attempt.
The Records Show features appearances from some of our superstar record holders in specially filmed clips as well as GWR’s very own Marco Frigatti who dons his Adjudicator uniform to oversee the proceedings.
The show takes place in the main theatre and is watched by hundreds of people.
The show’s unique feature is that the entire audience gets the chance to break Guinness World Records titles right from the comfort of their theatre seats.
Utilizing cutting-edge technology, their claps and cheers are recorded to measure how loud and long they can go. Working together as one massive team, the audience also participates in a custom-designed video game where they guide MSC’s mascot, Doremi, through an obstacle course. The twist? They control Doremi using only the sound of their voices.
Everything you need to attempt the records is provided... you just need to bring your skills.
As well as the audience, guests and crew members also get their once-in-a-lifetime chance to break a Guinness World Records title.
Matteo Mancini, Senior Manager Family Entertainment, said: “Guinness World Records exemplifies the kind of successful activities we offer on MSC Cruises’ ships, engaging the entire family.
“We host record-breaking challenges and themed family quizzes tailored for children and teenagers, as well as competitions for parents. It’s heartwarming to see all ages come together in person to compete and play.
“On our ships, everyone can be a star, and Guinness World Records now is not only in the book or in the TV show but has become an unmissable onboard live experience achievable for all.”
Can anyone take part in The Records Show?
If you fancy taking to the stage in The Records Show, you should first head along to the Guinness World Records Live! auditions held each daytime.
The auditions are usually held on the deck of the ship or on the promenade.
A lot of people will be vying for a place so make sure you shoot your shot!
Fun for all the family
Families on board MSC Cruises can test their knowledge of record breaking by teaming up for the Guinness World Records Family Quiz.
See if you can pick out the tallest, lowest, biggest and strongest things in a bid to win cool prizes.
The show usually takes place in the main theatre.
Kids only
We’ve also got a host of under-16s records exclusively for kids, so they don’t have to compete unfairly against the adults.
There are 12 exciting Guinness World Records challenges for the kids to tackle, testing their skills in speed, focus, and fun tasks like putting on socks and assembling Mr. Potato Head.
Team work makes the dream work
If you don’t fancy taking on a record attempt on your own, you can always team up with one of your fellow MSC Cruisers.
These records are exclusive to attendees of the Junior Club 7-11, Young Club 12-14 and Teen Club 15-17.
These teamwork challenges include creating rope and paperclip chains, shooting basketballs, and stacking dominoes and Jenga blocks. Teams must practise and sharpen their skills to earn a shot at breaking an official Guinness World Records title.
How can I book an MSC Cruise with Guinness World Records?
Head to the MSC Cruises website to search available holiday date and prices, remembering to narrow your search to the ships listed above until the programme is rolled out across them all.
