One movie buff has proved just how much he loves the big screen by watching more than 700 films in the cinema in 12 months.

Parisian Vincent Krohn, embarked on his quest in March last year and, despite his full-time job, has achieved the new record for the Most films seen in a cinema in one year with 715, beating the old record of 500 by 215 films. 

To complete the challenge, the 29-year-old Frenchman watched an average of 14 films a week, cramming 10 into his weekends and four during the rest of the week.

Harry Styles in Dunkirk

Vincent made use of every resource available to him, from various movie passes to a meeting with the President of French cinema company, Les cinémas Gaumont Pathé, made possible through his job in the film industry. 

Beginning on the 23 March 2017, Vincent spent the next 12 months watching any films that were showing at nearby screens, from modern American action films like John Wick 2 to old French dramas such as Le Journal d'une Femme de Chambre.

Despicable Me 3

The film fan’s favourite was Back to the Future which he described as his "most amazing experience", while at the other end of the scaled declared 1980’s art-house film, The Last of England as his least enjoyable.

His journey took him not only to many different theatres but also to various exciting events such as film festivals and presentations from directors.

He said: "I’m happy because I have achieved what I had set out to do.

"I’m not tired at all of watching films but just happy and relieved that I can now watch some at home in my bed instead of outside at the theatre all the time."
