It’s now seven years since digital media website Mashable first celebrated Social Media Day to celebrate the positive impact digital platforms have had on global communication.

Using the hashtag #SMDay – it aims to highlight how apps and services like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter changed society for the better.

To mark the occasion, we’ve picked ten digital-based record titles that are definitely share-worthy.

Most retweeted message on Twitter

#NuggetBoy broke the internet earlier in May, for his outstanding achievement of being the Most retweeted message on Twitter. Though his overall goal was to accumulate 18 million retweets for his beloved Wendy’s nuggets, the fast food company gave him the year’s supply just for earning a new world record. As a silver-lining, all the massive fame Nugget Boy received helped sell #NuggsForCarter campaign t-shirts in which 100% of the profits were donated to cancer research.
