Beyonce most liked post on Instagram
Guinness World Records can confirm that pop superstar Beyoncé has shattered the world record for the Most liked image on Instagram, after announcing that she and husband, Jay Z, are pregnant with twins.
 
Surpassing Selena Gomez's previous record in less than 8 hours, Queen Bey’s Instagram post racked up 6,335,571 likes as of 9:00 PM EST on Wednesday 1 February. 
 
To celebrate the newest additions to the Carter family, the 35-year-old singer shared a photo of herself holding her baby bump while kneeling in front a floral wreath captioned, “We would like to share our love and happiness. We have been blessed two times over. We are incredibly grateful that our family will be growing by two, and we thank you for your well wishes. - The Carters.” 
 
The photo shook the Internet on Wednesday, amassing more than 5 million likes in 3 hours and took over Twitter as well, with ‘Twins’ becoming the top trend on the platform minutes after the photo went live.
 
Beyoncé has beaten previous record holder and fellow musician Selena Gomez, who amassed 6,305,166 likes on an image posted 25 June 2016 of a glammed-up Gomez sipping an old-fashioned bottle of Coca-Cola with the caption, "When your lyrics are on the bottle."
 
The famous American couple got married in 2008 and are already parents to five-year-old Blue Ivy.

The Single Ladies singer has never been one for a low-key announcement. She shared the news of her first pregnancy at the MTV VMA Awards in September 2011 during a live performance. Mrs Carter rubbed her five-month baby bump, before declaring: "I want you to feel the love that's growing inside me."
 
According to Twitter's official global PR feed, @TwitterComms, the news created a bump in traffic that saw 8,868 Tweets being sent per second - a new world record.
