2015 in World Records - June: Caitlyn Jenner shatters Obama’s Twitter record and LEGO build a 35 m tower
Continuing our month-by-month look back over the past year of fantastic record-breaking feats, we return to June 2015 where we saw reality TV personality Caitlyn Jenner shatter President Obama’s Twitter record, Audi travel the world on one tank of fuel and new movies Star Wars and Jurassic Park achieve incredible Guinness World Records titles...
On 1 June, Caitlyn Jenner (pictured above, formerly known as Bruce Jenner) achieved the Fastest time to reach one million followers on Twitter in just over four hours - just two weeks after President Obama’s new account @POTUS had broken the record.
The reality star and former record-breaking Olympic athlete posted a photo of her upcoming Vanity Fair cover and the hashtag #CallMeCaitlyn began to trend thanks to her many fans and supporters.

While the Twitter community dealt with all this excitement, a charity called the American Heart Association put on an event where hundreds of participants became record holders for the Most people in a CPR relay, after giving hands-only CPR to a dummy model over 12 hours.
The event raised awareness of CPR and trained hundreds of people to be able to use it effectively so that each has the ability to save a life if they ever need to.
The FIFA Women’s World Cup kicked off on 6 June in Canada and it turned out to be a outstanding event which got the whole world talking about incredible sportswomen.
During their debut on the 8th, Equador’s Women’s National football team's head coach Vanessa Arauz (b. 1989) set an impressive new record as the Youngest coach in a FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Unfortunately the 26 year old did not lead the team to a victory against Cameroon.
While this was going on, Audi UK (which had teamed up with RAC) were in the midst of their #RecordRoadTrip, attempting to set a record for the Most countries visited on a single tank of fuel in a bid to demonstrate the efficiency of their new car, Audi A6 TDI ultra.

After 28 hours of very precise driving, motoring journalist Andrew Frankel and racing driver Rebecca Jackson (both UK) had broken the record, having covered 14 different countries on just one fill-up.
Also in June, Guinness World Records was thrilled to confirm that two world records had been smashed by two massive new movies.
We announced that the second teaser for Star Wars: The Force Awakens became the Most viewed movie trailer in 24 hours when it was viewed over 30 million times on YouTube, in just one day, in April.

Then, the long-awaited dinosaur action film Jurassic World was released at the end of May and after only 13 days it had grossed a record-breaking $1 billion.

Social media success hit when a birthday message posted by Wang Jukai – the lead singer of popular Chinese boyband TFboys – was reposted an astonishing number of times.
Dedicating a song to his fans, the star exploded the record for the Most reposts of a Weibo post ever.

On 21 June Lego Italia unveiled the Tallest structure built with interlocking plastic bricks in Milan, Italy.

The giant tower measured 35.05 m (114 ft 11 in) and was made out of approximately 500,000 little Lego bricks.
Mace (the construction company famous for building the Shard in London) celebrated its 25th anniversary by organising a spectacular record attempt for the Most people performing aerial silks.

From one type of mass participation success to another, pizza chain Papa John’s Ltd (UK) celebrated the upcoming opening of their 300th store and tossed aside their competition when 338 people achieved the Most people tossing pizza dough in Potters Field Park, beside Tower Bridge in London, UK.
Papa John himself said: “Today has been a fantastic way to showcase the passion we have at Papa John’s for pizza and to demonstrate how much skill goes into making pizzas. I am delighted that we have broken the record today”.
