Miley Cyrus’s break-up anthem “Flowers” is officially the most streamed track on Spotify for 2023.

The song generated 1.6 billion streams this year and has broken numerous records since its release in January.

Just days into its release, it set the record for most streamed track on Spotify in one week with 96,032,624 plays, and retains that record to this day.

The song set this record twice, first with the aforementioned number the week ending 19 January, and again the week ending 26 January with 115,156,896 further worldwide streams.

Miley has earned a few other Guinness World Records titles throughout her career:

• Highest annual earnings for a child actor – Miley made an estimated $25 million (£12.5 million) from acting in 2008

• Most entries simultaneously in the US top 100 in one week – Hannah Montana (played by Miley) had one re-entry and six new entries in the US Hot 100 chart in November 2006

• Most charted teenager – Miley scored her 29th US Hot 100 chart entry in November 2009 with her song “Party in the USA”

• Highest grossing film of a music tour – Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour earned the record in 2008 after it grossed $53.4 million (£26.9 million) in just two weeks

Meanwhile, Bad Bunny earned the most streamed album on Spotify of the year with Un Verano Sin Ti.
