The Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards 2021 earned a big record over the weekend by achieving the most people gunged/slimed simultaneously online with 195 participants

The annual awards show, which first aired in 1988 and holds the record for the longest-running televised children's award showbrought young viewers through a fun and interactive virtual journey in the Orange Blimp to celebrate fan-favorite musicians, actors, and athletes.

Actor, Saturday Night Live legend, comedian, and Kids’ Choice Awards host, Kenan Thompson introduced and interacted with presenters and viewers throughout the show.

He also shared a cheeky history lesson on the beginnings and importance of the green slime throughout notable moments in time.

Later in the show in the on-site slime lagoon, Kenan led the countdown to the record-setting moment, which brought the ceremonious sliming to the comfort of viewers’ homes.

Families covered the live video wall of the Kids’ Choice Awards in green during the ‘slimultaneous sliming’ as part of the official attempt.

Adjudicator, Michael Empric oversaw the online attempt to proclaim that the show and its viewers achieved the record with 195 slimed people.

Immediately after, Kenan joined the excitement as he received a generous pouring of the gooey and green substance.

Current record holders were also featured throughout the ceremony as presenters, winners, and performers, sometimes receiving a helping of slime.

GRAMMY® award-winning global superstar and multiple record-holder, Justin Bieber performed his hit single, “Anyone” and “Hold On.” The musician also walked away with two Kids’ Choice Awards for Favorite male artist and Favorite music collaboration with fellow serial record-breaker, Ariana Grande
