Continuing our month-by-month look back over the past year of fantastic record-breaking feats, in September Britain’s Elizabeth II is recognised as the longest reigning queen while an Australian sheep is given a record-breaking haircut and a Brazilian music festival creates the largest stage rig. In the TV world, "Game of Thrones" sets its second title and Jude Judy becomes longest serving television arbiter…
videoIn August 2012 Chinese popstar and actor LuHan made social media history when he set a record for the Most comments on a Weibo™ post, registering a staggering 13,163,869 responses.
However, as of 2 September this year, the same post – which celebrated the star’s favourite football team, English Premier League side Manchester United – had clocked up a total of 100, 252, 605 responses (and counting).
On 3 September, the world was saddened to hear about the passing of Chandra Dangi – one of the most iconic record holders to have graced the pages of the Guinness World Records book.
The Nepalese record holder was a primordial dwarf and - at only 54.6 cm (21.5 in) tall and weighing just 14.5 kg (31 lb 15.52 oz) - he was the Shortest man living and remains the Shortest man ever.
Over in Australia, an errant and extremely over-grown sheep was given a world record hair cut after it was rescued by the RSPCA.
41.10 kg (90 lb 9.76 oz) of fleece was removed from the animal, saving its life and earning it a record for the Most wool sheared from a sheep – single shearing.
Meanwhile in Brazil, bands were playing on the Largest stage rig for a music concert at the Villa Mix Festival Goiânia Edição 2015, as the music event took the title from veteran rock band U2.
We confirmed that 50 students from the School of Planning, Architecture and Civil Engineering at the Queen’s University in Belfast (UK) had successfully made the Largest Meccano structure using 10,000 individual pieces and, amazingly, no internal support system or adhesives.
One of the most noteworthy records of September, however, was achieved by Britain’s Elizabeth II – the Longest reigning queen ever.
She took to the throne in 1952 – three years before the first ever Guinness World Records book was published – and has reigned uninterrupted for an incredible 69 years.

Celebrating some of the stars of the new Guinness World Records 2016 book, NBC’s “Break it Today” show hosted a number of exciting record attempts and successes, including Most basketball slam dunks by a team using a trampoline in one minute, Most clap pull ups in one minute, Most hula hoops spun simultaneously and many more.
We even presented Canadian pop superstar Justin Bieber with a certificate for being the Youngest male artist to debut at No.1 with his latest single “What Do You Mean”.

Jaguar introduced their new practical sports car the F-PACE at the Niederrad Racecourse in Germany with a risky but successful attempt at the Largest loop the loop in a car.
Driven by British stunt driver Terry Grant – who underwent two months of intense physical and dietary preparation – the vehicle whizzed round a daunting 19.08 m tall, 360 degree circle.

Speaking afterwards, Terry said: “I am delighted to bring the Guinness World Records title back to the UK and help Jaguar run rings around their competitors.”
In the world of television there were two impressive Guinness World Records set, starting with one from Judith Sheindlin (USA) – better known as "Judge Judy" – who, after 20 seasons, has secured the
Longest career as a TV judge.
And finally, an extraordinary record holder from Japan raced into the record books as the Oldest competitive sprinter.
Hidekichi Miyazacki was born on 22 September 1910, making him 105 years 1 day old when he competed at the Kyoto Masters Athletics Autumn Competition in Kyoto, Japan on 23 September.
