The heaviest leek weighed 10.7 kg (23 lb 9 oz) and was grown by Paul Rochester (UK) and ratified at the Canna UK National Giant Vegetables Championships, staged at the Malvern Autumn Show in the Three Counties Showground, Malvern, Worcestershire, UK, on 29 September 2018.

Paul, from Seaham in County Durham, was the previous holder of this record, thanks to a 10.6 kg (23 lb 5 oz) leek he presented at the Malvern show back in 2015. One of the secrets to growing such prodigious vegetables, says Paul, is playing the growing plants the music of swing-band-leader Glenn Miller.
